The obligatory iceberg reminds me of a play the grade 7s put on one year. There were not enough parts for the entire class until we found a note at the bottom of the script that we could add an 'optional whale'. The girl who took that part had an arch way about her (she's recently a mother, I've learned) and liked to stomp around the stage declaring 'I'm the optional whale, I'm the optional whale!' I wonder if the iceberg ever feels, 'well, here come the tourists - better start floating into the harbour...'
